Are All Toner Sales Reps the Devil?

I work in a bad industry.  Most customers do not like people in my business.  In fact, behind car sales and drug dealers, I believe people who sell toner cartridges in Denver are the next most loved.  Why are we so hated?  Mainly because there are so many people who ruin it for us all.  I would guess for every call you get in regards to your toner from a legitimate company, you probably get 3 from people who are making us look bad.  It’s a tough business, but you still need toner in Denver and why not buy from us?  We thought it would be good to come up with a “you should” list in regards to your toner purchases in Denver. You should buy local — This helps our local economy as well as gives you the chance to actually meet with, talk to and work with a company if you get a bad batch.  It is good for you because we know you might show up at our office in Denver, Lakewood, Golden, Boulder, Fort Collins or where ever we might be. You should buy from someone who will guarantee the printer if your toner cartridge causes damage to [...] read more

HP Color Laserjet 5550 Color Cartridges, OEM or Compatibles?

We have had so many people complain that the compatibles for their HP ColorLaserjet 5550 they have bought from their current supplier have had poor print quality or, even worse, ruined their HP ColorLaserjet 555o, we had to ask our suppliers why this is. Even our suppliers will acknowledge that the HP ColorLaserjet 5550 and the HP Laserjet 9000 Series are the 2 cartridges that are the most difficult to re-manufacturer. Every supplier experiences 2 to3 times more failures on this cartridge than they do on say a HP Laserjet 4000 series.  There are complications with the seals and the casing that are not present with other cartridges.  For an excellent supplier, this may mean there is a 2% to 3% failure rate on this cartridge.  For a marginal supplier, this percentage could reach 10% or more. So, back to the question… OEM or compatible?  When should you look at either option? You should buy OEM (HP) cartridges when: Quality is the most important thing. When failure rates need to be around 1% or less You print low coverage and a ton of pages You should buy compatibles when: The company not only warranties their cartridge, but your printer if [...] read more

Are Climbing Supplies Costs Killing You?

Toner in Denver has gotten more expensive…that’s because toner prices everywhere have been increasing.   If you’re in a copier contract, you’ve no doubt noticed the 5% or more increase per year your lease has increased.   This is due partly to copier companys’ greed, but mostly it’s due to toner costs. Since toner is a petroleum-based product housed inside a plastic container, rising oil prices directly affect the cost of your toner in Denver.   Buying remanufactured (using virgin drums and wiper blades) or compatible toner in Denver can substantially offset the OEM toner cartridge price increase.   With budgets being trimmed, looking for alternatives to large office supplies chains is becoming much more common.   Small businesses are looking for local retailers who will stand behind their product and provide more value for their dollar. Our products are either the same or superior in quality and warranty to those of Staples, Office Depot, and other retail stores.  When customers ask about quality differences in toner between toner retailers and online mega stores, I usually have to reply: “you get what you pay for.”   If you’re looking for high-quality, a bullet proof warranty, and quality customer service, you’re probably going to be most interested [...] read more

Buying Toner Locally Is Good For You and Your Business!

I was comparing our toner prices here at Pahoda Image Products with those of the big guys (Staples, Office Depot, etc.), and I was very happy to see that we consistently beat them by around %10 on OEM and even more on compatible toner.   We carry a full range of supplies like HP toner, Lexmark Toner, Xerox Toner, Cannon Toner, Ricoh Toner, and most others.   Our delivery costs for established and large customers are always free.   And, if there is an issue with the toner, cartridge number, or questions, you are able to call and get assistance from a real person! Probably the best thing about buying toner locally is that you have the ability to call and get a replacement the same day if you have a bad toner cartridge.   This doesn’t happen often, but like car insurance, when something goes wrong, you find out how good of a company you’re working with! Another good feature of buying from a local toner supplier is that you know who you’re buying from.   The toner you’re purchasing is warrantied, and your local Denver toner company has their reputation on the line for getting it fixed for you!   An online megastore doesn’t [...] read more

Printing Clean Color Prints

I was working with a client today who was getting streaks on his color prints.   The streaks were on the reverse side of duplex prints he was hand feeding into his machine (he didn’t have the “dn” duplexing option on his HP printer).   It was quite a mystery, and after quite a bit of fiddling around, we finally found the problem.   It was actually quite a simple solution: one our system analyst came up with on his day off.   Here it is: Make sure your printer is calibragted for the weight of paper you are printing.   A large majority of printing issues are related to the paper and or paper settings on your page.   The quality of toner you are using also makes the difference.   If you have perfect paper, newer printer with all maintenence up to speed, and good environmental conditions, your toner is the only variable.   HP toner, like Lexmark toner, is great quality and produces fantastic images.   However both OEM Lexmark toner and OEM HP toner will take you to the cleaners if you have a lot of coverage per print.   Older HP models (esp. HP Color LaserJet 2600, HP Color LaserJet 2605, HP Color LaserJet 3600, [...] read more

5 Printing Tips You Can Use Today

Most offices waste a lot of money, toner, and time with their printing.   We try to save our clients money (by being consistantly priced at %10-15 lower than major office supply stores) and help them print greener (less waste, energy, and printing emmissions).   So, here are five printing tips you can use today to begin saving money now. 1. Run longer printing/copying jobs whenever possible. This will save you toner, energy, and prolong the life of your color imaging unit if you’re printing in color. 2. Print with your largest printer. If your office prints most jobs on larger laser printers, you will save hundreds in monthy costs compared to small inkjets.  Unless you print under 100 pages per month, you shouldn’t have an inkjet in your office due to the high cost per print (average is $.11 cpp compared to $.03 cpp for laser printers). 3. Set your default mode to print in “Draft” for black and white. Most monochrome documents can be printed in draft mode, and it will prolong your toner life. 4. Buy high-quality compatible cartridges unless you need graphic design quality color prints. Compatible cartridges can save you generally around 25-35 percent per cartridge.   This [...] read more
